[텐아시아=윤준호 기자] TREASURE has once again proven their immense popularity by reclaiming the top spot on Billboard Japan, following the successful conclusion of their massive tour in Japan.

According to YG Entertainment on March 7, TREASURE’s second full album ‘REBOOT’ has topped both the ‘Hot Albums’ and ‘Top Album Sales’ charts on Billboard Japan, becoming a two-time champion. This achievement follows their initial triumph with ‘REBOOT’ in August last year, when it shot straight to the top of these charts upon release. Despite being released seven months ago, the album has continued to chart for 32 and 31 consecutive weeks respectively, demonstrating its long-lasting popularity. This underscores TREASURE’s unique position in the local music scene.

Their recently released third Japanese mini album ‘REBOOT -JP SPECIAL SELECTION-’ is also enjoying dual popularity. Last week, this album dominated the ‘Hot Albums’ and ‘Top Album Sales’ charts at No. 1 and has maintained its top-tier status at No. 3, marking TREASURE’s presence in the top 3 of both charts for two consecutive weeks.

The significance of ‘Hot Albums’ is particularly noteworthy, as it not only reflects the power of the core fandom but also gauges broader public appeal. This indicates that TREASURE’s popularity in Japan has been fueled by various factors, including the release of their new album, a massive tour across Japan, and appearances on the five major terrestrial TV broadcasts.

The third Japanese mini album ‘REBOOT -JP SPECIAL SELECTION-’ released on the 21st has received positive feedback from music fans. It quickly took the top spot on Oricon, Japan’s largest music site, and the new song ‘LET IT BURN’ from the first track has climbed to the top of the Rakuten Music chart and other major local music charts.

Meanwhile, TREASURE recently completed their second massive tour in Japan, ‘2024 TREASURE TOUR [REBOOT] IN JAPAN’, covering 8 cities and 16 shows, and meeting with 300,000 fans. In addition, they are set to continue their global momentum with an upcoming Asia tour starting in May and a Japanese fan meeting tour scheduled for July.
