According to YG Entertainment on the 15th, the music video for BABYMONSTER’s ‘BATTER UP’ surpassed 100 million views on YouTube around 3:23 AM on the same day. This achievement comes just about 18 days after its release at midnight on the 27th of last month, marking the fastest record for a debut song of any K-pop group.

This success was somewhat anticipated. The music video broke the record for the highest number of views within 24 hours of a K-pop debut song, garnering 22.59 million views just a day after its release, and continued its steep rise, dominating the global YouTube daily music video chart for five consecutive days and eventually conquering the weekly chart as well.

Considering YouTube is a platform that represents a significant part of the global music market, it suggests that BABYMONSTER’s influence is expanding worldwide. Their formidable musical capability demonstrated even before debut and the solid fan base formed through it are seen as major factors in their success.

Not only the music video but also the performance content for ‘BATTER UP’ has been well received. The dance performance quickly became ‘the most viewed video in 24 hours’ upon its release on YouTube, currently exceeding 20 million views, and the live performance, praised for its quality comparable to music broadcasts, has surpassed 16 million views.

Their popularity on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming site, is also significant. BABYMONSTER attracted one million monthly listeners just six days after release, and ‘BATTER UP’ reached 10 million streams in just 10 days thanks to the warm response from listeners worldwide, setting another record for the fastest by a K-pop girl group debut song.

Additionally, ‘BATTER UP’ showed signs of popularity across various indicators. It quickly dominated the iTunes cumulative song charts in 21 countries upon release, securing a top position in the worldwide chart. It also made its mark in the global music market with its unique presence, entering the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S charts at 101st and 49th, respectively.
