YG PLUS Signing a Music Distribution Agreement with China’s Tencent Music

YG PLUS, engaged in music distribution, MD, and advertising business, announced on November 23rd, 2020 that the company has signed a music and content distribution agreement with China’s Tencent Music Entertainment Group (Tencent Music). 

 

Under this agreement, YG PLUS will serve as a music and video distributor across all platforms operated by Tencent Music. This includes such leading music platforms as QQ Music, Kogou Music, Kuwo Music, and Wesing, video channels – videos provided by Tencent and Kugou – and live channels, social media services – WeChat and QQ – and all the other music-consuming channels including radio, applications and games that are run by Tencent Music. 

 

“We have already signed a contract with the global music distributor FUGA last month to expand our market presence into the US and Europe through 7digital (US), Facebook (global), TikTok (global), Jio Saavn (India), and Qobuz (France), and this collaboration with Tencent Music will drive our advancement into the Chinese music market as well”, an official from the company stated, adding “Going forward, we will further strengthen our expertise as a music content distributor and broaden our global partnerships to evolve as a global player in the music content distribution industry”. 

 

YG PLUS has built a music portfolio of more than 40 million songs in Korea and abroad through collaboration with The Orchard, RouteNote, and other global music distributors. The company is leveraging this to establish a prominent global market presence in partnership with such leading music platforms in their region as Line Music in Asia, Yantex in Russia and Eastern Europe, and Anghami in the Middle East.
