YG PLUS Achieves Gold Tier in Spotify’s Preferred Provider Program (PPP), Becoming the First in Korea

YG PLUS

YG PLUS has been awarded Gold-tier certification in Spotify’s Preferred Provider Program (PPP), becoming the first company in Korea and only the second in Asia to be officially recognized for meeting Spotify’s global standards for music distribution quality.

Spotify’s PPP is a certification program that evaluates distribution partners worldwide based on criteria such as delivery reliability, metadata quality, and rights management capabilities. With this achievement, YG PLUS has been listed as a Recommended Provider in the Provider Directory on the official Spotify for Artists website, an official partner list referenced by artists and labels around the world. Only distributors that meet Spotify’s stringent quality requirements are included in this directory.

YG PLUS earned this recognition by demonstrating precise scheduling capabilities that enable truly global day-and-date releases; a stable operational process built on early delivery notifications and strict adherence to lead times; advanced metadata management that fully and accurately reflects artist and creator credits; and the ability to execute global promotion campaigns across markets. The company also received high marks for its management of international identifiers and release dates (including ISRC), its support for track-level updates and takedowns, and its systems to prevent illegal, duplicate, and abusive content from being distributed.

This milestone means that artists’ music can reach listeners worldwide with accurate credits and on the correct release schedule, free from technical or operational errors. It also allows labels and artists to focus more fully on creative work within a transparent and reliable release environment. Through this certification, YG PLUS has further solidified its status as a trusted distribution partner in the global music market.

“In addition to being a technical achievement, this PPP certification carries strong symbolic weight as Korea’s first and Asia’s second recognition of its kind,” said Inho Kim, Head of the Music Business Division at YG PLUS. “Earning Gold status in Spotify’s PPP is a breakthrough that goes beyond the typical limitations faced by latecomer distributors, and it marks an important milestone, as YG PLUS is now officially recognized as a key distributor helping to drive the global expansion of K-pop beyond Korea.”

Since launching its recorded music and digital distribution business in 2018, YG PLUS has grown through continuous innovation to become one of Korea’s leading music-tech-based distributors. Most recently, the company has been operating mixtape., a next-generation global digital distribution platform for independent artists and creators, through which it supports a diverse range of artists across genres while steadily expanding its service offerings and reach.
